Osaro is originally from Benin City, Nigeria, and came to Canada when he was five years old. He grew up in the Downtown Eastside and went to Britannia Secondary School. While in high school, Osaro was primarily focused on his aspirations as a basketball player. After completing his bachelor’s degree at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta, Osaro returned to Vancouver and earned his JD at UBC. He is currently working at a law firm in downtown Vancouver focused on human rights and employment law. Coming from a single-parent home, Osaro attributes much of his success to mentorship and strong community leadership.
